The site's original Sanctuary was built in 1865, remains in good condition and is nearly all original. The first church building for this congregation was Hudson, Ohio's founder, David Hudson's cabin. The congregation shortly thereafter built a church where the current Town Hall stands.
An educational, office and fellowship hall wing was added on to the back or North side of the sanctuary in 1924. This is the Ellsworth Wing. In 1959 The Walbridge Educational Wing was added to the West sides of the Sanctuary and Ellsworth.
In the year 2000, the Walbridge wing was removed and the current building stands in its place. We chose not to name this building after any one person or family as so many had contributed to its construction in so many ways. For record keeping, some call this the "Bicentennial Building" because it was completed in 2002; the bicentennial year our congregation was established by David Hudson (circa 1802).
The three buildings: Sanctuary, Ellsworth Wing and the Bicentennial Building, encompass 50,500 square feet on a 2.2 acre lot in downtown Hudson. All three buildings surround a serene courtyard that seats one-hundred for Summer morning outdoor services and weddings. Parking is in the rear or on the street. Next to the lower parking lot is a playground.
The Ellsworth Wing now houses the Youth Room, (6th through 12th grades), on the 3rd floor; the Music level contains a large choir room, bell choir room and more all on the 2nd floor; and on the lowest floor, the 1924 fellowship hall, is now called the activity room. The activity room has a fully functional commercial grade kitchen used daily by The Children's Center.
The Bicentennial Building houses ministerial offices and the Children's Center Director's office on the 3rd floor; on the 2nd floor are the Administration and Finance offices and the new 4300-square-foot-plus Fellowship Hall, complete with a full commercial grade kitchen used at least weekly, (nearly daily for missions and functions). The 2nd floor is the main level to enter the church. The Bicentennial Building's 1st floor is now the educational floor with eleven rooms for Sunday School, the Friend's Class, The Children's Center's work-day classes, crib room, and Evening general meetings.
